  • What is Carbon Sync’s mission?
Our mission is crystal clear: Making sustainable product design the industry default. Currently, only about 20% of the products you see on the market are considered "sustainable." But we believe that everything we use, from T-shirts to electronics, can have a lower environmental impact. This change won't just come from modifying existing products; we're looking at a whole new era of innovation. And to fast-track this shift, we're putting powerful, easy-to-use sustainability tools right in the hands of industrial designers like you. To learn more about how sustainability is a design problem, refer to our blog post.
  • How can I contribute to this mission?
We're thrilled that you want to be part of our mission! We're always on the lookout for passionate volunteers to join our team. There are several ways to get involved: Online Community: Help us build and manage our online community. Outreach: Help with our outreach efforts to reach more industrial designers. Social Media: Boost our presence on social media platforms. Tutorials and Educational Content: Help the team create online tutorials and educational content to train designers on sustainability. To join our squad and contribute, feel free to connect with our founders on LinkedIn or drop us an email at hello@carbonsync.co.
  • What is LCA?
LCA stands for "Life Cycle Assessment." LCA is a methodology that helps us understand the environmental impact of a product, like a chair or a phone, from the moment we get the materials, to making it, using it, and eventually throwing it away. It's like looking at the product's entire life story, but focusing on its impact on the environment.
  • Why is LCA important for industrial design teams?
LCA is like a compass for designers. It helps them make products that are kinder to the planet, by guiding early stage design decisions. Imagine you're designing a new backpack. LCA tells you which materials are eco-friendly and which ones harm the environment. You can avoid downstream environmental impact by including LCA in your design toolkit at the drawing board.
  • How can I report a bug or error?
If you encounter a bug or error while using the LCA Tool, please report it through the slack channel created for the beta testers - Log them in the #bugs channel. Be sure to include screenshots, videos or detailed description of the bug.
  • How do I register a new account?
Feel free to book a demo with us and we'll get you started with a free trial.
  • Is Carbon Sync using a standard LCA methodology?
Yes, we are using the ISO 14040 standard for our LCA methodology. This is like a trusted recipe that ensures our environmental impact calculations are accurate and reliable.

We are on a mission to transform how products are designed and made.

Did you know that just 16% of consumer products sold in the United States are eco-friendly? This statistic underscores the pressing need for our mission and the urgency of our work.
